My name is Michael Olsen. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Los Angeles, California, and I work with clients statewide via telehealth. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Health Services from Azusa Pacific University. I work with individuals, couples, and families who could benefit from support with a variety of experiences and difficulties. I use a cognitive Behavioral and Relational approach to therapeutic services to support my clients in progressing toward success. My approach My approach to therapy varies based on the individual needs of each person or family I work with. I most often use an eclectic Relational (talk therapy) approach with my clients, incorporating Behavioral practices to create self-awareness and promote improvement. I work with my clients to develop meaning and define values and beliefs to better understand what makes a struggle a problem for the individual. My focus I have found that my approach to treatment is a good fit for children and their families needing parenting support, as well as individuals experiencing difficulties with anxiety, stress, depression, interpersonal and relationship conflicts, and behavioral struggles. I help my clients gain a deeper understanding of their relationships with people and challenges in their lives, so they can better define their struggles and goals. My communication style My communication style is open, warm, and respectful. I want my clients to feel respected and comfortable sharing their unique stories and journeys with me. I provide a client-focused, non-judgmental space where clients can feel safe and supported in their struggles.
