Mike is a licensed clinical social worker and substance abuse counselor who provides psychotherapy for individuals and couples working through depression, anxiety, life transitions and adjustment, relationship issues, as well as substance dependence recovery. He works collaboratively with you to help you become the best version of yourself while considering your life's circumstances. Mike brings a warm, empathetic, and energetic approach that fosters a safe environment to put you at ease and explore the challenges you face. Often, past adversities and future concerns can distract from making changes. Mike will work with you to determine how to process and work through challenges while staying in the present moment. He utilizes techniques from solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). Mike has a particular interest in exercise, working with athletes, peak performance, and incorporating these into the treatment process. Mike earned his master's degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and has been providing mental health and addiction care since 2010. His past clinical experience includes partial hospital and intensive outpatient programming at Advocate Aurora Health Care and Rogers Behavioral Health. In his free time, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, as well as long-distance running and watching sports.
