Getting to know Michele Andrew

Hi, I'm Michele. It can be overwhelming to find a therapist who is a good fit-made harder when you may already be overwhelmed by the very reason you are seeking therapy services in the first place! I know; I've been on the other side myself. As a clinician with a Master's in Social Work from California State University, Sacramento, I partner with you, meeting you where you are now, to learn what your goals are for therapy. It's always an honor to get to know you and bear witness to your journey, which I do in a curious, non-judgmental, and compassionate way. The therapeutic process is a nuanced interplay of you being understood and heard, collaborative problem solving, skill-building, and learning about yourself. Often during a challenging time or life event, we may realize that the things that used to work to navigate stress, anger, loss, disappointment, etc., no longer work. That can leave us depressed, unmotivated, overwhelmed, anxious, or frustrated. Or we have come to a crossroads where we want to live more authentically with our values and more connected with others. Therapy provides a safe, trusting place to lay the foundation for you to take steps toward becoming the version of yourself that you want to be. I don't believe that we are broken or need fixing by an ?expert.? More often than not, therapy is about becoming more aware of ourselves-mind, body, and spirit-and the support to make changes, even if small, that align with your values. I'm particularly interested in behavioral psychology and making habit and lifestyle changes.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The first two sessions are focused on gathering information about you, your background and what brings you to therapy. That way we can work together to create treatment goals. Once treatment goals are established, which certainly can change, together we use the session as described above - and also as a way to problem-solve and skill-build.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

She’s wonderful - I’ve been searching for the right therapist for two years now and I’ve finally found the perfect one! I’m so relieved to have her!
I like that she clearly has a technique and system in place to find solutions to anxieties and issues that I bring up about my life.
She’s been so kind from day 1. She listens and asks if/when she can give advice. She’s extremely empathetic and has a good soft/appropriate sense of humor. I’m really growing with her and it’s only been a couple of months.
