Psychotherapist
KY
Hello, I'm Shelley (she/her). I earned my Master of Education degree in Counseling and Human Development from Lindsey Wilson College in 2012. Since then, I've been independently licensed in Indiana since 2014, in Kentucky since 2020, and now also in Colorado. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with both adult and adolescent clients in community mental health and private practice settings. My approach to therapy is rooted in a feminist psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and harm reduction perspective. I deeply honor the therapeutic relationship, believing it to be vital to the process of change. I work collaboratively with my clients, creating a safe and supportive space where they can explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment. I specialize in helping individuals navigate mood and anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress, and life transitions. I have a great deal of passion for working with those who have experienced spiritual, sexual, emotional, and/or physical trauma. Additionally, I enjoy supporting parents and caregivers as they navigate the complexities of their roles. In my practice, I utilize techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), along with other evidence-based practices. These tools help me tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each client. Outside of my professional life, I love spending time outdoors with my family and pets. I also enjoy playing games and engaging in home improvement projects with my wife. These activities help me stay grounded and bring a sense of balance to my life. If you're looking for a compassionate and dedicated therapist to support you on your journey, I would be honored to work with you. Let's take the first step together.
