"Hello, I'm Michelle, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and retired attorney with an interesting story to share. Our wounds are often the openings into the best and most beautiful parts of us. ~ David Richo. This quote resonates deeply with me and guides my approach to therapy. I believe that facing our wounds can lead us to discover the most beautiful parts of ourselves, and I'm here to help you on that journey. I have an extensive background working with people facing some of the most challenging times in their lives. I practiced as a therapist until I turned 40, then decided to go to law school and spent 15 years practicing family and employment law. With the changes brought about by COVID-19, I felt a strong pull to return to the world of behavioral and mental health, where my true passion lies. As a therapist and retired attorney, I bring a unique perspective and a wealth of experience to our sessions. Whether you're dealing with mental health issues, past traumas, relationship or family issues, I provide a safe, therapeutic setting to help you heal and grow. My specialties include working with individuals, couples, and families on a wide range of issues, including dementia, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, family relationships, grief, LGBTQIA+ support, life transitions, medical issues, narcissistic personality disorder, PTSD, intimate relationships, sex and intimacy issues, trauma, ADHD, adolescent and teen mental health, OCD, perinatal support, phobias, somatic symptom disorder, learning disorders, stress, suicidal ideation, and self-harming behaviors. We begin where you need to begin. With over thirty years of experience as a therapist (and former family law attorney), I have an eclectic range of skills that allow us to find the approach that works best for you. My goal is to provide you with a safe, trusting environment to address and explore your concerns and stresses.
