Getting to know Michelle Gee

Hi, I'm Michelle. Life can be extremely difficult to navigate at times, and the last two years have had an impact on us all. It can seem impossible to deal with life stressors and escape from the overwhelming feelings of anxiety or depression. I help people recover from traumatic experiences, whether it be a difficult childhood or abuse. I can help guide your mental health journey, and together we can learn to manage what life throws at you. In 2010, I graduated from Defiance College with my Bachelor of Science and in 2015 with my Master's in Applied Social Science from Case Western Reserve University. Now, as a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), I have been working in community mental health for the past 12 years. I primarily work with teens and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, and trauma. My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy and understanding. I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and healing, and my role is to provide a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your feelings and experiences. I use a variety of evidence-based techniques tailored to your unique needs, ensuring that our sessions are both effective and meaningful. I specialize in working with the LGBTQIA+ community, helping individuals navigate life transitions, and supporting intimate and romantic relationships. Whether you're dealing with stress, bipolar disorder, children's mental and behavioral health issues, or family relationship challenges, I'm here to help. When we work together, you can expect a collaborative and compassionate approach. I strive to build a strong therapeutic relationship based on trust and mutual respect. Our sessions will be a space where you can feel heard and understood, and where we can work together to develop strategies for managing life's challenges. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring the outdoors, and staying active. These personal interests help me stay grounded and bring a balanced perspective to my work. If you're ready to take the next step in your mental health journey, I'm here to support you. Let's work together to create a path towards healing and growth.
