What should a new client know about working with you?

I am Michelle Gorden, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Virginia, as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). With an extensive 20-year background in the field, I possess a wealth of experience and expertise. My primary focus lies in the treatment of mood disorders, trauma, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), areas in which I specialize. My belief is that each client, couple, or family deserves a personalized and tailored treatment approach. To ensure the best outcomes, I have received training in several evidence-based modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

What is your typical process for working with clients?

With a laid-back demeanor, I strive to establish a safe and comfortable atmosphere for my clients. I embrace an eclectic approach to therapy, recognizing that a one-size-fits-all approach is inadequate in meeting the unique needs of each individual.
