Psychotherapist
CA
As a Level 1 trained Gottman Marital Therapist, I help couples strengthen their relationships. Couples learn to replace negative conflict patterns with positive interactions and to repair past hurts. Interventions are designed to increase closeness and intimacy, improve friendship, and deepen their emotional connection. Using primarily a cognitive-behavioral approach, I provide both short- and longer-term therapy to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families with a broad range of presenting problems. Originally developed by Dr. Sheila Eyberg, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) is a unique treatment program that focuses on promoting positive parent-child relationships and interactions, while teaching parents effective child management skills. I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology from San Jose State University, which has provided a strong foundation for my clinical work. My approach to therapy integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, and Gottman Marital Therapy. I focus on using PCIT, a proven treatment program for parents of children with behavioral problems such as aggression, non-compliance, defiance, and temper tantrums. I am a warm, empathetic, and compassionate listener, guided by deep optimism and genuine curiosity shaped by my own life experiences. My style is collaborative, directive, constructive, compassionate, and warm. I have a deep respect for the human condition and am comfortable with the pain that sometimes results from life. Therapy greatly aided my life as an adolescent, and this positive experience inspired me to become a therapist. I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families achieve their goals and life satisfaction. I am adept at goal setting aimed at symptom reduction. In our first session, we will ensure we are a good fit, establish a relationship that honors who you are, and provide you with a trusted, non-judgmental space to explore.
