Hi! My name is Michelle Nelson, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Northern California. I earned both my Bachelor's and Master's in Social Work degrees from San José State University and am proud to be a Bay Area native. With over 11 years of behavioral health experience, I have worked with children, families, and adults facing a variety of mental health and substance use challenges. I truly enjoy supporting individuals with complex needs and am passionate about building supportive, empathic, and strength-based relationships with those I work with. I understand how important it is to find the right therapist to meet your unique needs and would be honored to be part of your recovery journey.
What should a new client know about working with you?
You can expect to walk away from our sessions feeling empowered, capable and motivated to tackle the curveballs that life may throw at you. I will do my best to challenge and encourage you to become the best version of yourself by supporting you in identifying old behaviors and patterns that haven't been serving you well, and supporting you through exploration and curiosity to make changes and improvements.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
