Psychotherapist
CA
Hello, my name is Michelle Uribe. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have found that helping individuals grow their capacity to view situations in multiple ways, problem solve, and adapt is a great way to make a difference. My approach My philosophy is client-centered, and I utilize a variety of strategies to meet clients where they are in their mental health journey. Developing trusting, therapeutic relationships by remaining curious, positive, empathetic, and honest is foundational. I tailor sessions and treatment plans to meet your specific needs. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling life takes courage. I am here to support you. My focus I enjoy working with a wide range of age groups and challenges. I have practiced in educational and clinical settings. My experience includes helping clients with stress, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, grief, loss, and parenting concerns. My communication style I am curious, calm, and positive. My primary role as a therapist is to listen without judgment and support different ways of viewing a problem to create actionable solutions. My journey to mental healthcare Previously, I was a middle school teacher working with a diverse population of students and families. This catalyzed my interest in mental health and family systems. I wondered what fuels motivation and how teachers, parents, and students can communicate more effectively. I then pursued a master’s in counseling at California State University, Hayward. For three years, I was a Behavioral Health Specialist at an elementary school, working closely with families and providing individual and group therapy to children. Most recently, I was a school counselor at an elementary school, where I developed a comprehensive school-wide counseling program. I earned my bachelor’s degree from New College.
