Getting to know Milo Ellis
I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe being your full, authentic self. My goal is to meet you where you are, work at a pace that feels manageable, and help you develop greater self-understanding and confidence in your ability to navigate life’s challenges.
I am a Provisionally Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP) in Nebraska, and my approach to therapy is integrative and person-centered. There is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to mental health, so I work collaboratively with each client to understand their experiences, goals, strengths, and needs. Together, we can identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, develop practical coping and emotional regulation skills, and work toward meaningful changes in your life.
I have experience working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, borderline personality disorder (BPD), intense emotions, relationship difficulties, negative self-image, and unhelpful thought or behavior patterns. I also enjoy supporting LGBTQ+ individuals and understand that identity, relationships, family dynamics, and life experiences can bring unique challenges.
Therapy doesn’t have to be intimidating, and you don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin. You may feel overwhelmed by your emotions, stuck in unhealthy patterns, uncertain about your relationships, or like life is moving forward with someone else in the driver’s seat. Wherever you’re starting from, I want therapy to feel collaborative, supportive, and free of judgment.
My goal is to help you better understand yourself, build healthier patterns, strengthen your relationships, and develop the tools and confidence to create a life that feels meaningful and authentically yours. I am currently accepting new clients at Plains Therapy Group in Omaha.
What should a new client know about working with you?
When you work with me, you can expect therapy to be collaborative, supportive, and tailored to you. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I’ll meet you where you are, take time to understand what you’re experiencing, and work with you at a pace that feels manageable.
My priority is creating a nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable being your full, authentic self. You don’t need to know exactly what you want to work on or have the “right” words to describe what you’re feeling before coming to therapy. We can figure that out together.
My approach is integrative and person-centered. Depending on your needs, our work may involve understanding patterns in your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships; developing practical coping and emotional regulation skills; processing difficult experiences; improving communication and relationships; or building a stronger and more compassionate understanding of yourself.

I also enjoy working with LGBTQ+ individuals and strive to provide a space where identity can be explored openly and without judgment.
Therapy can sometimes involve difficult conversations, but it doesn’t have to feel intimidating. I want our sessions to feel like a place where you can be honest about what’s working, what isn’t, and what you need from therapy. My role is not to tell you how to live your life, but to work alongside you as you gain insight, develop new skills, and feel more confident making choices that align with the life you want to build.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Our first few sessions are focused on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about what you’ve been experiencing, what feels most important right now, and what you hope will be different as a result of therapy. You don’t need to arrive with clearly defined goals—we can work together to identify them.
From there, we’ll develop a treatment plan based on your individual needs, strengths, and goals. Because my approach is integrative and person-centered, the process will look different for each client. Therapy may involve exploring patterns in your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships; processing past experiences; developing coping and emotional regulation skills; strengthening communication; or working toward a healthier and more compassionate relationship with yourself.
Throughout our work together, I’ll check in with you about how therapy is going and whether our approach feels helpful. I want you to feel comfortable giving feedback and talking openly about what is or isn’t working. Therapy is collaborative, and we can adjust our focus or approach as your needs change.
I work at a pace that feels manageable while also helping you move toward meaningful change. My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you can better understand yourself, practice new skills, and gradually make changes that carry over into your everyday life.
Over time, we’ll continue to evaluate your progress and goals. Ultimately, I want you to leave therapy with greater self-understanding, stronger tools for navigating challenges, and more confidence in your ability to build a life that feels meaningful and authentically yours.
