Psychotherapist

Hi there, I'm Milton! Starting therapy can feel like a big step. I congratulate you on starting your journey, and I’m here to make sure that it is meaningful to you. Thank you for sharing information about yourself. I'm so happy that you reached out to come into therapy. I am Milton Gordon, a licensed therapist. You can read more about my background, education, experience, and therapy approach on this platform. I look forward to working with you on your therapy goals and objectives. I know the value of therapy since I have experienced therapy in the past myself personally. Please go to my schedule page and schedule an appointment. If you need help with scheduling, please text me and I will help you. My approach I believe that for counseling to be effective, the client and the counselor must be actively involved in developing counseling goals and assessing progress. Seeking changes of self-perception, emotions, and behaviors requires ongoing effort both within and out of the session. Sometimes, change may occur quickly. Often, change requires slow, deliberate, and repeated efforts. Just as a broken bone requires time to heal, emotional and mental health problems require time. You should be aware that while counseling interventions offer potential benefits, they also present possible risks. Such risks might include uncomfortable feelings of sadness, guilt, anxiety, anger, or frustrations as you discuss unpleasant aspects of your life, or experience difficulties with other people as you change. Furthermore, as a result of your personal growth, you might experience feelings of discomfort until you adjust to the changes within and/or they become a part of your life. Nevertheless, consider the potential risks against the benefits, which might include such assets as gaining insight into your problems, developing coping skills and resources, and changing yourself so that participating in life’s daily activities generally becomes a more positive experience.
