“Miltonjha has been the best therapist I’ve ever had! She has walked with me during some really tough seasons, and also some really light ones. She is consistent in that I know she’ll know where I’m at in every session and will be encouraging and honest in the way I need. 10/10”

Getting to know Miltonjha Grier

Hello there! My name is Miltonjha Grier (pronounced Mill-tawn-juh), and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina and a Licensed Independent Social Worker in South Carolina with years of professional experience. I earned a bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Studies and Human Services from Winston-Salem State University in Winston Salem, NC (Go Rams!) and a Master's degree in Social Work from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC (Go Golden Bulls). I have experience helping teens, adolescents, adults, and families with stress and anxiety, life changes, motivation, self-esteem/confidence, and depression/anxiety, mostly in the outpatient setting. Those are just a few of my favorites, but I also have experience supporting individuals with other mood disorders. I implement a variety of therapeutic interventions based on your specific needs. To name a few, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. I prefer to tailor therapy modalities to your unique needs. I believe you are the expert on your story and that you have many strengths to help you overcome challenges. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps toward change. I am here to support and empower you on that journey. The partnership between therapist and client is essential in developing and strengthening effective coping techniques! I like to think of myself as down-to-earth, understanding, goal-driven, and compassionate. I enjoy spending time with family, nights out on the town, traveling, 90's R&B and fashion, and trying new restaurants. My favorite color used to be pink, but as I've gotten older, I find myself liking more things gray! I don't have any pets, but I enjoy talking about animals and fur babies.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
