Getting to know Mindi Levins Pfeifer

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have been licensed since 2001. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach. For over 25 years, I have worked with individuals, families, and groups. I chose the MSW/LCSW degree and license because I believe that people are a product of the whole sum of their life parts, including social, environmental, economic, and cultural components. My career has focused mainly on young adults and families dealing with issues of abuse, drug addiction, homelessness, mental illness, passion development, and relational challenges. Through that work, I have become an expert in human behavior and understanding the critical nature of building relationships by meeting clients where they are currently. I am able to do this by being open, honest, and direct in my practice and have seen clients truly appreciate my style of feedback and communication. My work has included organizations, systems, and communities addressing larger issues, but my passion is always the individual. Through my different experiences, my expertise includes solution-focused work, CBT, grief work, dual diagnosis, anxiety and panic, depression, self-esteem, couples, parenting, and family work. My clients would say I am someone who is authentic, non-judgmental, culturally sensitive, and has a keen ability to help others engage in the cognitive work they need to reframe their situations and work toward a healthier, more complete life.
