Getting to know Mirely Vasquez

Bienvenidos/Welcome! I am a bilingual/bicultural Spanish-speaking therapist located in the East Bay area of California. I have been working with children, teens, and adults of color struggling with an array of concerns including anxiety, depression, relationship satisfaction, life purpose, trauma, postpartum depression, and spirituality, related to life transitions, family stress, trauma, and grief. Although my work has focused on the unique needs of minorities and underrepresented individuals, being a member of that community is certainly not a requirement for your personal development. I hold a Master’s in Psychology from William Paterson University and a Master’s degree from the University of Phoenix, which have equipped me with a strong foundation to support diverse clients. My approach I am here to support you during your therapeutic journey by assessing your needs and using different approaches tailored to each individual. I have experience working in schools, Trauma Centers, and Community Outpatient/Inpatient facilities for adults, teens, and children. Most recently, I have been working with dual diagnosis, trauma, anxiety, and depression at different levels of complexity. My communication style My communication style varies based on your needs. I can be passive or directive, but it is always tailored to you and what you need in the moment. Just like my therapeutic style, I try to meet my clients where they are. My journey to mental healthcare I was attracted to Marriage and Family Therapy due to the lack of resources and Spanish-speaking therapists with cultural competencies in the mental health field from a young age as a first-generation American.
