He always remembered details about my life and would sometimes show up with new insights he had developed after our previous session. Thanks to his help, I was able to get through a rough time in my life. I am eternally grateful for Muhammed and would recommend him without hesitation to anyone. He is a true professional. In another world, we could have been great friends.”

“Mohammed is a great listener. Never afraid to call things out and give valuable opinion. I always have a note pad every session because as much as he's taking notes on me, I am also taking notes on what he tells me. I had therapist before and they dont compare to Mohammed. That's why he's still helping me out for more than a year now.”

Getting to know Mohammad Afsar

My name is Mohammad Afsar, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Los Angeles, California, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of California, Los Angeles. I work with adults and specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help my clients make progress and start feeling better. My approach My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client I work with. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, integrating a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and client-centered perspective. These principles help me and the client build a shared understanding of their experiences and allow us to work together to chart a path forward. My focus I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for adults who may be dealing with the challenges of interpersonal relationships, life transitions, and stress. This often takes the form of anxiety, depression, stress, and emotional difficulties. I help clients navigate these transitions, gain insights, consider different perspectives, and develop self-empowering skills to foster a healthier outlook on life. My communication style I am personable, easy to talk to, and I emphasize active listening and empathy. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything, and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment. During our sessions, I’ll be right by your side, building trust and creating a warm and supportive space for your growth. My journey to therapy I decided to become a therapist because I have always wanted to help people. Throughout my life, whether it was tutoring in school, being an RA in college, volunteering in my community, or being a trusted friend, I’ve always felt naturally drawn to helping people through difficult times. I find great joy in seeing individuals become the best versions of themselves.
