Molly Duncan, LMFT

Molly Duncan, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hello and welcome. My name is Molly Duncan, and I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from California State University, Fullerton, and my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Redlands. Over the past six years, I have gained specialized experience counseling clients with anxiety, depression, trauma and abuse, difficulty adjusting to life’s changes, and parenting issues. My personal philosophy is this: People are good inside, and people are flawed. I believe we are all doing our best, and sometimes we just don’t have the resources, tools, and support that we need to do better. We all develop our own unique style of coping based on our personality, childhood, and life experiences; your method of coping may have worked in the past, and it may not be working for you now. The good news is that change is possible, and when you know better, you do better. I’m here to provide you with a safe space to process challenging emotions, gain insight, shift your perspectives, and develop healthier coping strategies so that you can be your best self, whatever that looks like for you. My theoretical foundation is based on the tenets of cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, and self-compassion. I believe in cultivating authentic relationships with my clients, and I work collaboratively with clients to develop their own goals for therapy and find the tools that work for them. It takes tremendous courage to take this first step, and I look forward to working with you.
