Monica Grey, LCPC

Monica Grey, LCPC

Psychotherapist
MD
I specialize in the treatment of insomnia and other sleep related issues using CBT-I (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia) — the gold-standard, medication-free approach to chronic sleep problems. If you've been struggling with difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up exhausted despite trying everything, this is what I do. I'm a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who also treats anxiety, stress, worry, and trauma — which often go hand-in-hand with sleep difficulties. My approach is structured, evidence-based, and collaborative. Patients typically begin seeing improvement in sleep within the first few weeks. As a Colombian Latina therapist, I bring a culturally sensitive perspective that recognizes the role of identity, family, and life experiences in emotional well-being. I offer sessions in English and Spanish.

What should a new client know about working with you?

If you're here because you can't sleep, you're in the right place. I work with people who have tried melatonin, sleep apps, white noise machines, all of it, and still can't get consistent rest. CBT-I is different because it targets the root cause, not just the symptoms. Most clients see meaningful improvement within 4–8 sessions. My approach is warm, direct, and collaborative. You'll always know what we're working on and why. I offer sessions in English and Spanish.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

CBT-I is a focused, structured treatment that typically takes 4 to 8 sessions. In our first session, we explore your symptoms, sleep patterns, history, and goals. From there, I use a CBT-I protocol that includes sleep assessment, sleep diary tracking, and targeted techniques to rebuild your body's natural sleep drive. For anxiety and stress, I use CBT and mindfulness-based strategies. Treatment is collaborative. You set the pace, and I guide the process with a plan tailored to your needs.
