Getting to know Monica Haynes Bowens
Hello. My name is Monica, and I am a licensed therapist in North Carolina (NC). I am a native of New York City but have lived in NC for many years. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Fayetteville State University. As a former military spouse, I have a unique understanding of military life and the transitions that come with it—insights that only living that experience can provide. I have been told that I am easy to talk to, and people often find comfort in sharing their stories with me. My approach to counseling is supportive, affirming, and client-centered. I am passionate about helping others achieve their goals and look forward to partnering with you on your journey.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Sessions with me involve what is typically defined as talk therapy. Through conversations we will be able to identify and label the challenges you face and find practical ways to address and cope with them. I work to empower and motivate you to achieve your desired outcome, gain an understanding of your thoughts, and support a sense of acceptance in matters that may seem unchangeable.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
