Getting to know Monique Brown

Hello, my name is Monique Brown. I am a licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) and a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC III) in the state of Ohio. I earned my MEd in Counseling Psychology from Youngstown State University. I have been working in the counseling field since 2014, gaining experience with a variety of ages and populations. I have worked with individuals, families, and groups who experience issues such as anxiety, depression, family conflict, addiction, self-esteem, and more. I am a certified anxiety treatment specialist, a certified trauma practitioner, and certified in telemental health treatment. Much of my experience involves working with individuals experiencing co-occurring disorders and addiction. I have a passion for supporting those affected by trauma and have been trained in trauma-informed practice. I assist individuals in making connections between their trauma and the barriers they currently face. I enjoy helping others realize there is a light at the end of the tunnel by providing support and clarification. I utilize evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness strategies. I hope we can work together on this journey toward you becoming the best version of yourself. What should a new client know about working with you?

The first session will contain information gathering and rapport building. The client will share past experiences with counseling and presenting issues that have led them to seek help. Clients will share their expectations and goals for counseling during the initial session. The client will receive information regarding the structure and frequency of counseling sessions. I will obtain informed consent and answer any questions that the client may.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
