Psychotherapist
TX
Hi there, I'm Monique! I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and the founder of Momentum Counseling and Consulting PLLC. Before becoming a therapist, I was a collegiate volleyball player—an experience that shaped my understanding of discipline, teamwork, and resilience. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and went on to complete my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Along the way, I pursued additional certifications in EMDR, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Play Therapy to deepen my ability to support clients of all ages and relationship dynamics. These tools allow me to approach healing from a whole-person perspective—whether I’m working with individuals, couples, or families. My approach My approach is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and empowerment. I don’t just focus on what’s “wrong”—I focus on your strengths, resilience, and potential for growth. I believe healing begins when you feel seen, heard, and supported, so I create a space where you can explore your story safely and without judgment. I am dedicated to empowering my clients with the tools and insights needed to lead more fulfilling and balanced lives. I understand that many individuals have experienced trauma and approach their care with sensitivity, recognizing the profound effects of trauma on mental health. I strive to instill a sense of hope in my clients, fostering a belief in their capacity for positive change. My focus I work with teens (16+), adults, and couples who are navigating trauma, anxiety, life transitions, or relationship struggles. I especially enjoy working with individuals who may be feeling stuck or overwhelmed and want to build insight, healthier boundaries, and emotional resilience. As a young Black woman, I also offer a culturally aware, inclusive space that feels relatable and affirming. My communication style I bring warmth, honesty, and a down-to-earth energy into every session.
