Hi there, I'm Moushumi! Glad you're here to take a moment to get to know me. I am Moushumi Sen, LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker). The California Board of Behavioral Sciences issued me a license in 2017, Lic#79576. I am a psychotherapist in the SF Bay Area. I earned my Master’s in Community Mental Health from California State University, East Bay. I am trained in EMDR and am working toward certification. I have worked with both trauma and grief for almost two decades in various settings as a medical social worker and also with dual diagnosis. **My approach** EMDR, CBT, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and culturally informed. **My focus** Trauma, grief, depression, and anxiety. **My communication style** My clients usually describe me as warm, direct, personable, and transparent. **My journey to mental healthcare** Trauma work has been a personal and professional passion even before I was in college. I have always found that healing takes place when we have a confident guide who also shows compassion and empathy around the challenges that come with finding your authentic self. I really want to be that guide who you can trust and build a connection with. Getting vulnerable in therapy takes immense courage. I want to make vulnerability achievable and help someone generate their own narrative to express themselves. **My goals for you** I find that goals are found by understanding the root issue behind any distress one experiences. Goals can then be defined by getting to know what steps one can take toward their own healing path. **My first session with you** It's important for me to be transparent and clear about guidelines. I then will gather information from you to gain a better understanding of what goals are important to you.
