Nabeeha Mahmood, ASW

Psychotherapist
CA
I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker currently practicing under the supervision of a licensed practitioner at The Conscious Life Psychological Services. What brought me to this work is a deep passion for understanding people's stories, identities, and struggles within the context of their lived experiences. Growing up in a diverse community, I saw how culture, migration, and intergenerational values can deeply affect the way we experience mental health and healing. These experiences stayed with me and inspired me to become a therapist who can hold space for these complexities. My hope is to offer a safe, inclusive space where you feel supported in exploring whatever you're carrying - whether it's stress, grief, or questions about identity, relationships, or direction. You don't have to figure it out alone: it can feel easier when you have someone to walk alongside with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to figure it out all on your own. When you work with me, you'll find a safe, supportive space where your experiences are respected and your voice truly matters. Our sessions are collaborative: you are the expert on your life, and I'll walk alongside you with curiosity and compassion. Together, we'll explore what's weighing on you, uncover patterns that may be holding you back, and build tools that truly fit your life. Many of my clients come to me during times of transition - navigating grief, anxiety, relationship struggles, or questions of identity and direction. Wherever you're starting from, we'll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Come as you are, and we'll take it from there.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When we first start working together, our sessions will focus on getting to know you - your story, what brings you to therapy, and what you hope to get out of our time together. I'll ask questions to better understand your experiences and the context around them, while giving you space to share at your own pace. From there, we'll set some goals together based on what feels more important for you right now; whether that's finding ways to cope with stress or anxiety, working through grief, navigating relationships, or simply having a space to pause and reflect. I'll bring in strategies and perspectives from different approaches, but always shape them together so they feel supportive, practical, and true to your values. Therapy with me is flexible - some clients come in with something specific to work on, while others use the space for ongoing support and growth. I'll check in with you regularly to make sure our sessions continue to feel useful and aligned with what you want.
