Getting to know Nadia Jamison

I’m Nadia Jamison, LCPC, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the State of Illinois. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University and a Master’s in Psychology with a specialization in Child and Adolescent Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. My clinical experience allows me to support individuals across various life stages and address a wide range of mental health needs. I take a compassionate, collaborative approach to therapy, creating a safe and supportive space for self-discovery, growth, and healing. I draw from evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Narrative Therapy, tailoring treatment to meet each person’s unique needs and goals. My areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and substance use and dependency. I work with adults, young adults, and adolescents, helping them navigate challenges, develop effective coping strategies, and build resilience. I’m committed to providing a nonjudgmental, trusting therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered in their personal growth. It’s an honor to be part of each client’s journey toward greater clarity, healing, and well-being.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, you can expect a compassionate, collaborative, and judgment-free environment where your experiences are heard and validated, and of course challenged with you in mind. I believe in meeting clients where they are and working together to set realistic, meaningful goals. Therapy with me isn’t about quick fixes — it’s about building insight, developing coping tools, and creating lasting, positive change at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I value honesty, humor, and authenticity in the therapeutic process and encourage open communication about what’s working and what isn’t so we can adjust your care to meet your evolving needs.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work together begins with an initial consultation, which is a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment. This session allows me to learn about your personal history, current concerns, strengths, and goals for therapy. It’s a chance for us to get to know one another and determine how I can best support you. After the initial assessment, follow-up sessions are 60 minutes each. These sessions are tailored to your needs and focus on developing insight, building coping strategies, and working toward the goals we establish together. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we’ll check in regularly to make sure you feel supported and on track with your progress.
