Hi there, I'm Nancy! My name is Nancy O'Neil, and I am an LCSW with a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from the University of California, Berkeley. I have been in clinical practice for 25 years and truly enjoy working with my clients. My approach is client-centered, and I work collaboratively to achieve the best results. My areas of focus include Substance Use, Addiction, Co-dependency, communication skills, stress reduction, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and most mood disorders. My approach I use several modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused, and Trauma-informed Care. My focus I work with adults and couples, addressing substance use disorders, mood disorders, communication skills, anger management, harm reduction, stress reduction, and trauma-informed care. My communication style I work collaboratively with clients to discuss their goals. I engage clients to feel safe by building trust and comfort when discussing topics that may be uncomfortable or the first time ever discussed. My journey to mental healthcare I grew up in a fabulously dysfunctional family impacted by addiction, mental illness, and grief. I use these experiences and the tools I have gained personally and professionally to empower others to grow through difficult times. Holding space for individuals or couples who reach out for help drives me to continue providing my expertise and compassion. My goals for you With my client-centered approach, I discuss each client’s goals, provide information, education, and treatment plans applied throughout sessions. I assess these goals regularly and adjust tools as needed to achieve them.
