Psychotherapist

Many of us struggle with emotional and mental symptoms and yet do not always quite understand why. Some experience a sudden life event that leaves them feeling unbearably overwhelmed with stress, anxiety, depression, or irritable moods, while others have faced ups and downs throughout their entire life from childhood and cannot quite understand why they continue to struggle. I can guide you through the process of not simply addressing current life struggles, but also exploring your life experiences to help you understand why you relate to others, the world, and see yourself the way you do today. Together, we will identify areas of strength and challenge. The more you understand your story and the origins of your mental and emotional development, the better you can identify areas to strengthen and areas to challenge yourself to change for long-lasting positive lifestyle improvements. These changes can enhance your sense of self-worth, increase positive relationships, and support your growth on your life journey. In my work, I utilize a trauma-focused approach and am trained in evidence-based therapy models including CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Seeking Safety, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy. I have also received various trainings in trauma-informed care. I am passionate about providing guidance and support to diverse populations, including children beginning at age 5, as I use play therapy techniques and am working toward play therapy certification. I also work with teens, adolescents, and adults of all ages who struggle with disorders such as anxiety, depression, trauma, or stress-related conditions. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. As a teen and adult, I embarked on my own therapeutic journey and deeply understand how challenging this process can be.
