“Natalie is amazing. Intuitive, positive but realistic, skilled, astute, and perceptive would be only a few words to describe her. She brings a lot of experience and care into her work. Her ability to help me rework my trauma with EMDR has helped me light years beyond what I have experienced with other therapists. I highly recommend her.”

Getting to know Natalie Nguyen
Hi there, I'm Natalie!
My name is Natalie Nguyen, and I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California. I earned my Master's in Social Work from California State University Long Beach. I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life's challenges and achieve meaningful growth. With over 20 years of experience working in a mental health clinic, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals, couples, families, and groups through a variety of therapeutic approaches, including individual counseling, couples therapy, group sessions, and play therapy for children.
My approach
My therapeutic style is warm, empathetic, and client-centered. I draw from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction to address issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and life transitions. For younger clients, I incorporate play therapy techniques to create a safe space for self-expression and healing. I also utilize Psychodynamic Therapy to explore deep-seated patterns and relationships that influence current behaviors and experiences. For older adults, I incorporate Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) to address the impact of changing life roles, social relationships, and transitions, fostering improved communication and emotional connections. Additionally, I provide memory retraining and cognitive training exercises to enhance cognitive functioning, improve memory, and support overall mental sharpness. These techniques are particularly beneficial in managing age-related cognitive changes, building confidence, and maintaining independence. My approach is always adaptable to the unique needs and preferences of each client, ensuring a supportive and collaborative therapeutic process.
