Hi there, I'm Natasha! Congratulations. You've already taken the first step towards the life you want to live. And I'm here to help you. My approach I have an eclectic approach to treatment. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to reframe distress-causing thinking patterns. I use Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) to challenge thoughts and identify the way your actions, feelings, and life events interact with each other. I use mindfulness to help you develop a sense of awareness and build skills to remain in the present. My focus My ideal client shows up. My client can be ambivalent about therapy, but all you need to do is show up. I know that the desire to make changes can waver, and I will never judge you for that. Beyond that, my client is an adult. I've worked with folks as young as 18 and folks well into their 80s. Together, we can work on skill-building, coping skill development, identifying red flags, setting healthy boundaries, developing financial awareness, and more. My communication style Everyone has a different way of communicating, and because of that, my communication style will adapt to you. I often use a warm, grounded style of communication. If and when appropriate, I can be direct and use a little bit of compassionate confrontation (Don't worry. I will always ask if you're ready.) But ultimately, I let you lead. I want to meet you where you are with your communication and the kind of communication you would prefer. My journey to mental healthcare I have been a helper my whole life. Before becoming a therapist, I was a yoga instructor. I loved guiding classes to create a unique healing experience. Sometimes the healing was physical, sometimes it was through building self-awareness and looking inward. I decided to pursue graduate school because students were coming to me with challenges that I was not equipped to assist with. Although I'm no longer teaching yoga, my yoga practice has remained important.
