Natasha Mcgee, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Natasha! Hi there! I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, and I look forward to providing you with a space where you may feel heard and safe. My approach I utilize CBT(cognitive behavioral therapy), ACT( acceptance and commitment therapy), and Client-centered approaches in my practice. A quote that references CBT states, "Happiness is not dependent on the good or bad opinion of others, but instead upon your actions.” Acceptance and Commitment Therapy looks at struggles head on how can we accept and live alongside rather than avoid or dismiss them. Client-centered, I will always meet you where you are at, and empower your choice of taking the lead on experiences. This allows you to gain a greater idea of yourself which will build confidence and appreciation for all parts of you! My focus My Client focus is typically individual sessions with adolescents and adults who are experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress. I tailor sessions to meet the needs of each age group, ensuring that therapy is age-appropriate and effective. My communication style I firmly believe in meeting the client where they are; however, "gentle nudges" to challenge, question, and increase insight are also very much a part of the therapeutic relationship. My journey to mental healthcare Simply put, being in a session where you assist someone in challenging false narratives they have been told the majority of their life, or ask that question that illuminates the room, or provide the support they have never had, is why I decided to become a therapist. Self-realization and acceptance are powerful. My goals for you Clients reach their goals by remaining realistic, accountable, and focused. My role in assisting with goals is to be supportive and maintain a space where shortcomings are a part of the process and wins are celebrated!
