Nathan Long, LMFT

Psychotherapist
TN
For the past eight years, I have helped individuals, couples, and families navigate their mental health journeys. My client-centered approach provides a safe space for you to grow, heal, and develop the skills needed for lasting emotional well-being and fulfilling relationships. My approach I believe firstly in collaboration of care, working with clients to clarify and refine their personal goals for lasting change. My approach is rooted in systems thinking, helping clients understand that their individual struggles are connected to broader family or social contexts and empowering them to alter those systems for long-term healing. My focus My practice is centered on helping individuals and couples move through periods of transition and change. Whether you're feeling stuck in your personal life or facing challenges in your relationship, we'll work together to identify the underlying patterns and build a stronger foundation for the future. My communication style In our work together, I'll provide a balance of attentive listening and purposeful dialogue. I am here to hear your story fully and help you feel understood, and I'll also openly communicate my observations to ensure we're always working effectively towards your goals. My journey to mental healthcare I was initially drawn to the mental health field by a deep-seated belief in the power of human connection. In my early career, I spent mostly with couples and families in a community mental health setting, along with extensive experience in crisis intervention. Along the way, I have had the honor of walking alongside individuals in detention center settings, helping kids and adolescents navigate mental health crises, and working with couples and families in times of burnout, stress, and difficult transitions. What continues to drive my practice today is the privilege of witnessing my clients' profound personal growth and watching individuals, couples, and families build a more resilient and fulfilling life.
