What is your typical process for working with clients?

During your first visit we will spend approximately 55 minutes getting to know each other. The first visit is an opportunity to evaluate if you and your provider or your child and provider are a good match to work together and to learn more about each other. Please keep in mind that the first session is NOT a guarantee or a commitment on any party's part to remain in treatment; it is instead an opportunity to evaluate our ability to work together. You will have a chance to discuss any concerns or questions about the terms/conditions of treatment, about your provider, or about treatment as a whole. You will be asked questions about your mental health or that of your child if the patient is a child, and relevant facts. Please know that you do not have to share in detail any life event or current issue that you do not wish to discuss. I respect each individual and recognize that each person is in a different stage of readiness for therapy. Instead, we will work together on building trust during sessions and when you are ready, you may share more. During your first session the provider and you will discuss diagnosis/diagnostic impression of you or your child, therapeutic goals, and a treatment plan. I will also discuss with you tips for you to make the best of your sessions and how to prepare for future meetings.
