Getting to know Nephetia Whittaker

Hi, I am Nephetia, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals navigating life's changes and challenges. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2000 and a Master's degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2012. I am a compassionate and affirming therapist who strives to provide a safe, judgment-free space for clients to express themselves and utilize their strengths to achieve their goals. Decreasing negative symptoms and helping each client live a healthier, more fulfilling life is my ultimate goal. With me, you are celebrated and encouraged to be your authentic self. Some of my strongest qualities include building strong therapeutic rapport, creating a safe place to be authentic, and being empathetic. My theoretical approach is based on the belief that clients are in charge of their counseling experience, ensuring the process is individualized. I use an integrative therapeutic approach, primarily including CBT, Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I enjoy helping others reach their goals and feel greater emotional stability overall. I have experience assisting and supporting clients in overcoming and coping with depression, anxiety, grief, issues specific to women, low self-esteem, and body image concerns.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My clients can expect to experience a safe, non-judgmental space to share and explore their thoughts and feelings. We will work hard, maybe laugh a little bit and explore life’s challenges. I believe that you are the expert of your life and I am here to listen, support and guide you with an unbiased perspective.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
