Hello! I'm Nick Heath, a Licensed Individual Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Boston, Massachusetts. I primarily work with adult couples and individuals via Telehealth, including heterosexual, gay, lesbian, and interracial couples of all ethnicities—partnered, cohabitating, and married—seeking to increase communication, mutual understanding, respect, trust, emotional and sexual connection, intimacy, and reduce relationship distress. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Simmons University. My approach integrates The Gottman Method Couples Therapy (I have completed Training at Levels 1, 2, & 3), Mentalizing, CBT, Client-Centered, Positive Psychology, Strength-Based, Solution-Focused, and Sex-Positive treatment approaches. I primarily work with adults aged 22-80. Individually, I am most comfortable and experienced treating bipolar disorder, depression, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, increasing assertiveness and independence, and grieving losses—including parents and other family members, relationships and marriages, pets, careers, and friendships. With couples, I focus on communication issues, infidelity, rebuilding trust, respect, mutual understanding, emotional and sexual connection, and intimacy. My communication style is warm, welcoming, friendly, open, and accepting. I am an active listener—curious, compassionate, empathic, direct, honest, transparent, thoughtful, non-judgmental, proactive, hard-working, reliable, a good and effective communicator, and responsive. Clients report feeling heard, empathetically acknowledged, affirmed, validated, and motivated. My journey to mental healthcare is driven by an innate curiosity, empathy, and compassion for others, and a deep commitment to helping people overcome obstacles to their growth and happiness.
