Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Nicole! Reaching out and beginning the therapy process takes strength! I commend you for taking the first step in your healing journey and would be honored to be a part of your story. They say it takes a village to raise children, and it often feels isolating, lonely, and overwhelming. Where is the village?! I remember feeling all these ways, and more, during my first post-partum experience and even prior while struggling with infertility. You are not alone, and even if it feels that way, there are people who want to help. My approach You are the expert in YOUR life. My therapeutic approach is very individualized based on your specific needs, personality, and goals for treatment. No two clients are the same, and I believe that requires my approach to vary from client to client. Overall, I am a Client-Centered therapist pulling most of my conceptualization of life events from Carl Rogers. My primary focus in working with clients is to foster our client/therapist relationship. I believe in unconditional positive regard and foster a non-judgmental environment to explore your reasons for seeking therapy. My focus I began my journey as a therapist specializing in working with children under 12 through Play Therapy as a Registered Play Therapist. I realized my passion was for helping new moms learn and grow in their role as a parent once I had my own children. I have found success in helping clients create their own village and find joy in parenting by having a strong background in working with young children, coupled with my training in the perinatal population. I also find myself drawn to working with high school students, college-aged individuals, and emerging adults. Your late teens into your twenties and thirties is a unique and often stressful time. Challenges could include choosing college majors to finding a career you are passionate about, or perhaps navigating the adult child/parent relationship.
