Getting to know Nicole Kleiman

Hi there, I'm Nicole! I have been practicing as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida for the past 23 years and am also a Licensed Therapist in Virginia, largely focusing on depression, anxiety, thought disturbance, addiction, emotion regulation, relationship distress, and self-esteem. I believe many of the responses we struggle with are connected to a traumatic event (or perceived trauma) from the past. Currently, my primary focus is in the individual realm, emphasizing relationship growth. I encourage you to prioritize the areas you wish to address in therapy and tailor my approach on an individual basis. I believe in client autonomy, so the areas we address are the ones you want to work on. I draw on several treatment modalities-including Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy-to help you develop your strengths and meet your treatment goals at a pace that works best for you. I have also completed training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and the Developmental Model for Couples, integrating both approaches into my relational therapy practice. Overall, I help you see that managing the stressor is more important than just managing the stress, as this allows you to cope with anything that comes your way. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida. My approach I utilize Internal Family Systems, DBT, CBT, and ACT therapy interventions. Motivational Interviewing is also used to assess what drives each person toward self-improvement. I personalize interventions based on each individual I see. I am certified in the Gottman Method and Developmental Model for Couples Therapy and use a fusion of these approaches when helping individuals work through relationship stress. I have also completed coursework in Internal Family Systems Therapy.
