Nicole Roy, LPC, has an innate ability to quickly build rapport with clients of all ages. She believes people can overcome great obstacles and live the life they desire, using a supportive approach to better understand the areas of concern for the individual or family.
Nicole helps clients age six and up cope with depression, anxiety, ADHD, women’s issues, parenting, and the following struggles:
Life Transitions – It’s normal to experience stress during a life transition. Our bodies and minds need to adjust to a new lifestyle, which may feel unsettling and uncomfortable. Nicole can help you navigate both positive and difficult changes with proven tools and techniques to keep you on track.
Grief – Grief can encompass a range of emotions from deep sadness to anger. With over ten years of experience helping individuals with difficult issues, Nicole will help you sort through your feelings and adjust to a new life.
Chronic Pain / Illness – Adjusting to illness and/or disabilities is difficult, but there are methods to help you cope and move forward. Nicole will provide support and help you find creative strategies to live a better life.
In therapy, Nicole uses a cognitive behavioral approach to help clients identify thoughts and behavior choices that no longer meet their needs. Based on the strengths of the individual or family, she helps discover healthy ways to accomplish goals.
Nicole earned an undergraduate degree in Family and Child Studies from Northern Illinois University and a master’s degree in Community Counseling from Governors State University.
