Dr. Nicole Vargas is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT-S) and the owner of Family Table Counseling in Southlake, TX. She holds a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy and has spent over 18 years working with individuals, couples, and families from all walks of life. Nicole believes her job is not just to listen, but to also get involved in your quest for change. She looks past the patterns that keep people feeling "stuck" and helps clients uncover new ways of relating to themselves and each other. Clients have described her as compassionate, progressive, non-judgmental, and as a "gentle challenger." Much of Nicole's clinical work centers on cultural diversity, marital conflict, and trauma. What should a new client know about working with you?

I'm not the therapist who is just going to sit and listen, I will get involved. I love "unsticking" clients from the patterns that aren't working for them, helping people feel more confident and less anxious, and I enjoy helping couples communicate better. Let's talk about how you can actually hold boundaries effectively, let's discover how we can move forward from our trauma (EMDR, etc), let's talk about the neurobiology behind making habits stick! I believe that all behavior makes sense somehow, let's figure out that how and work it!
