Getting to know Nida Haider

*Note that prior to the first session with the provider, LifeStance will require a credit card on file. *LifeStance providers do not accept Medicare or Medicaid insurance. If booking with these, you will be unable to be seen. Let's be real. Therapy can be scary! Sitting in front of a total stranger and sharing your deepest and possibly even darkest thoughts can sound terrifying. Well, I can definitely reassure you that, yes, while therapy can be scary, if your therapist is able to create a warm environment, making you feel seen and heard, it can very quickly become an appointment we look forward to! My goal is to make sure my therapy room is a judgment-free, safe space for my clients. I love using an eclectic, scientific-based, and holistic approach to therapy. It is crucial for me as a therapist to make sure therapy is in collaboration with my clients and tailored specifically for them. I enjoy combining various tools and forms of treatment when working with my clients. My current approaches include a combination of CBT, Internal Family Systems, scientific-based elements of Art and Movement Therapy, Feminist Theory & Multicultural Theory, and Play Therapy. I do have a passion for learning and am dedicated to expanding my knowledge on various models and approaches! I earned my bachelor's degree in Psychology at Benedictine University and my Master's in Counseling Psychology with a focus on Latinx Mental Health Counseling and Trauma Therapy at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I will also be seeking formal training in Art & Movement Therapy in the near future. I have a passion for working with BIPOC populations as well as the LGBTQ+ population! As a person of color myself, I feel a personal responsibility toward serving marginalized communities with a decolonized approach to therapy. I'm compassionate, open-minded, empathetic, and committed to giving my clients the support they need in order to move their lives in a positive and meaningful direction.
