Psychotherapist
300 N Coit Rd, Ste 350, Richardson, TX
You may look capable on the outside while privately feeling anxious, uncertain, or disconnected from what you want. Perhaps you are balancing family expectations with your own values, questioning your identity or relationships, grieving a loss, or entering a life stage that no longer has a clear roadmap. I work with young adults and adults navigating anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, betrayal, friendship conflict, grief, self-criticism, trauma, and major life transitions. I especially welcome South Asian, Desi, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, first-generation, and bicultural clients, as well as men who have learned to carry emotional pain privately. My work is culturally responsive and grounded in the belief that therapy should not require you to reject your culture, family, faith, or community to become more fully yourself. Together, we can explore the beliefs and patterns influencing your choices, strengthen emotional regulation and communication, establish healthier boundaries, and rebuild confidence in your own judgment. I am a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Parthi B. Patel, M.A., LPC Supervisor #78799. I provide individual therapy in English, with in-person appointments in Richardson on Mondays and Fridays and virtual appointments throughout Texas. I accept Aetna, Cigna, and Curative, and my private-pay rate is $110 per individual session.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is warm, collaborative, practical, and honest. I want you to feel understood without feeling as though you must educate me about every cultural, family, or identity-related part of your experience. I will meet you with curiosity rather than assumptions and respect that you are the expert on your own life. Therapy with me includes space to slow down and understand what is happening beneath the surface, but it is not limited to talking about the same problem each week. We will identify patterns, clarify what matters to you, and translate insight into changes you can practice outside of sessions. I may gently challenge beliefs or behaviors that are keeping you stuck while remaining mindful of your pace, readiness, and autonomy. My approach is trauma-informed and influenced by Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and DBT-informed practices. Depending on your goals, we may examine how thoughts and inherited beliefs affect your emotions, practice regulation and distress-tolerance skills, strengthen communication, or work on boundaries and values-aligned decision-making. Humor may have a place in our work when it feels natural, but your concerns will never be minimized. You do not need to arrive with the perfect words, a complete explanation, or a fixed goal. We can begin with what feels most important today and make sense of it together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session focuses on understanding what is bringing you to therapy, what has been happening in your life, and what you hope will feel different. I will ask about your current concerns, important relationships, cultural and family context, coping patterns, strengths, and relevant history. You can share at a pace that feels manageable; you will not be expected to disclose every difficult experience immediately. Together, we will identify initial goals and discuss what an appropriate treatment plan may involve. Your goals may include reducing anxiety or low mood, navigating a transition, processing relationship betrayal, communicating more directly, setting boundaries, strengthening self-esteem, or separating your own values from outside expectations. Ongoing sessions typically include a check-in, attention to current concerns, and focused work connected to your goals. We may explore a recurring pattern, challenge an unhelpful belief, practice an emotional-regulation or communication skill, or decide on a realistic step to try between sessions. Some sessions may be more reflective; others may be more structured and action-oriented. We will regularly review what is helping, what feels incomplete, and whether your goals have changed. Therapy is collaborative, so I welcome honest feedback about the pace, focus, and approach. The goal is not to make you dependent on therapy, but to help you develop insight, skills, and self-trust that continue serving you beyond our sessions.
