Hi there, I'm Norma! My name is Norma "Inez" Martinez (I go by Inez), and I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist working with clients statewide through Telehealth. I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University and a Bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University. I work with adults to manage anxiety and depression using evidence-based models such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. My approach I see everything through an attachment lens because we, as humans, are social creatures deeply affected by our relationships. I am client-centered and take a collaborative approach to creating a treatment plan tailored to each individual. I primarily utilize mindfulness, CBT, DBT, ACT, and psychodynamic approaches depending on the client’s needs. I also check in frequently and use rating scales to ensure we stay on track with your goals or adjust our approach as needed. My focus I typically work with young adults through adults in their 30s. I am most comfortable supporting those dealing with anxiety, depression, overthinking, or difficulty managing life transitions. My favorite client is someone ready to understand what is holding them back, take steps to initiate change, and break through unhelpful patterns to become their most aligned self. My communication style I am an easygoing therapist who helps clients feel comfortable and safe. Once safety and trust are established, my style is compassionately direct. I am straightforward, action-oriented, yet gentle and understanding. My journey to therapy I became a therapist after navigating my own struggles and benefiting from individual therapy. It has always been easy for me to connect with people and help them feel comfortable. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in customer service, as a life coach, and as a case manager.
