Getting to know Nyra Serrant
Nyra Serrant (she/her) has experience working with clients ages 9-69 from a multitude of backgrounds. Nyra has clinical expertise in transitional phases, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, ADHD, multicultural and intersectional identities, and boundary setting/maintenance. She is especially drawn to clients seeking therapy for the first time, those looking to develop skills to handle adversity, and individuals aiming to build relationships that encourage acceptance, growth, and change. Nyra was born and raised in the Commonwealth of Dominica and received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Binghamton University. She completed her Master's in Social Work at Hunter College and has been working in university and private practice settings since gaining her license. Nyra uses a combination of approaches and evidence-based tools such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and a Strengths-Based Approach.
My goal as your clinician will be to create and maintain a client-centered, safe space where you will be free to speak about your unique experiences, explore, and work through the challenges of life.

Building rapport and an understanding of what you're looking for guides the sessions. I am here to guide you along your journey, not to take control. If something feels off, let me know. No unreasonable expectations or neat boxes, life is messy, let's explore.
