You might be here because something hasn’t been sitting right lately, even if on the outside things look like they should be working. Maybe you’ve been holding a lot and haven’t really had the space to slow down and make sense of it. Or you’re moving through something that feels heavier than you expected, like a shift in your relationships, a big life transition, or questions around who you are, what you believe, and where you fit. Wherever you find yourself, we can start there. I don’t see therapy as something overly clinical or distant. I’m interested in you as a whole person, not just what’s feeling hard right now. The more I understand your background, your values, your relationships, and the environments you move through, the more we can figure out what actually feels helpful in a real, everyday way. A lot of the people I work with are used to carrying a lot while still showing up for everything in their lives. That might look like burnout, feeling stretched thin, or noticing that something feels off even when you’re doing all the “right” things. My approach is warm, thoughtful, and collaborative. I’ll bring in different tools when they’re useful, but nothing is forced or one-size-fits-all. More than anything, I want this to feel like a space where you can be honest, feel understood in context, and start to move toward something that feels more steady and more like your life.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You don’t need to come in with the right words or a clear plan. A lot of people I work with aren’t totally sure where to start, they just know something feels off, or heavier than it should. That’s more than enough. From the beginning, my focus is on helping you feel comfortable enough to be real. There’s no pressure to open up all at once, and no expectation that you have to explain everything perfectly. We’ll take it at your pace. I tend to be very present and engaged in sessions. I’ll ask questions, reflect things back, and help us stay close to what’s actually coming up for you, not just what feels easiest to talk about. Over time, our work might look like finding language for things you’ve been holding in, making sense of patterns in your relationships or reactions, and talking through the pressure you carry, especially if you’re used to being the one others rely on. We'll also be figuring out how to set limits without feeling guilty or like you’re letting people down, and creating more space for yourself in a life that may not have left much room for that. I also hold a lot of care for the parts of your experience that don’t always get named, like culture, faith, family expectations, or what it’s like to move between different worlds. You won’t be judged here. My role isn’t to tell you what to do, it’s to help you get clearer on what feels true for you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is really about getting to know you. We’ll talk about what brought you in, what’s been on your mind lately, and anything that feels important to share. There’s no script for this, you can start wherever feels easiest. In the beginning, we’re building an understanding of what’s been going on and what feels most important to you right now. Sometimes that’s something very current, and sometimes it’s something that’s been sitting in the background for a long time. From there, sessions tend to flow based on what’s coming up in your life week to week. Some days we might focus on something specific, like a conversation, a stressor, or a decision you’re trying to make. Other times, we might slow things down and look at patterns, relationships, or experiences that deserve more space than they’ve had. I’ll bring in tools or different ways of looking at things when it feels helpful, but always in a way that fits you. Nothing is rigid, and nothing is rushed. Over time, people often notice that things start to make more sense. You might find it easier to name what you’re feeling, respond instead of react, or feel a little more grounded in situations that used to feel overwhelming. We’re not trying to force change. We’re creating the kind of space where it can actually happen in a way that lasts.
