Psychotherapist
TX
Hi there, I'm Otis! Otis H. Mann, License Texas 67630. The most important issue is to allow the client to feel secure when we are talking and to trust me. That is my part. Then we can talk about the issue or issues that are of concern. **My approach** My approach to therapy utilizes Christian Counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Client Centered Therapy, Couples Therapy, Family Therapy, and Grief Therapy. I prefer to become a helper to the client, and the client determines his or her approach to counseling. **My focus** Basically, I like to work with adults or teens. I am familiar with grief, which can include items other than death such as moving, a new job, or school. Some people who have anger issues have actually experienced trauma previously. **My communication style** I prefer a casual session. I like to actually have a conversation with the client. **My journey to mental healthcare** I was volunteering at a local nursing home. One of the residents lost his wife. We talked about this for quite a while. Eventually, he had accepted the death. At that time, he said that between his counselor and myself as a chaplain, he worked his way through the grief process. I thought that I could do both. I went to school and worked to become qualified as a Licensed Professional Counselor. **My goals for you** The client will set the goal. The goal might change as we progress. **My first session with you** I like to get to know the client. This includes age, work, living condition, and general information. The reason the client made contact is important.
