Pakiza Butler, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
I've been a licensed professional counselor for over 11 years. I profoundly believe in therapy, both as a therapist and a client. Whether or not you have a support network, working with a professional counselor invested in helping you navigate life's challenges—relational difficulties, grief, stress, depression, or feeling stuck—can make a significant difference. I use my passion for therapy to provide a safe, compassionate, non-judgmental space where clients can openly discuss their struggles. My approach My approach is strength-based and client-centered. I invest time in learning modalities that best suit each client and use them accordingly. I believe the core of effective therapy is true connection, respect, and trust. I utilize CBT to help clients identify and challenge negative thoughts, replacing them with positive ones. I also draw from Narrative and Solution-Focused therapy and mindfulness. I use a trauma-informed approach to trace the origin of struggles as needed. My focus I have worked with diverse populations across age, socioeconomic status, and professional backgrounds, addressing stress, self-esteem, anger, depression, PTSD, grief, and relationship challenges. I have worked with at-risk students, burned-out professionals, inmates, and military members. I am comfortable working with any client facing these challenges. My communication style Active listening and person-centered communication are my strengths. I continually foster an environment of trust and safety. My goal is to empower clients to achieve mutually identified therapeutic goals. I hold a Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Houston, which provides a strong foundation for my clinical work and ongoing professional development.
