Pamela Elder, LPC

Psychotherapist
GA
Hi there, I'm Pamela! I am Pamela Elder, but I totally prefer to be called Pam. I am a Licensed Professional and Nationally Certified Counselor, born and raised in Atlanta, GA. I earned my Bachelor's Degree from Georgia State University in 2007 and my Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling from Argosy University Atlanta in 2010. My approach I offer an integrated holistic approach to therapy that includes, but is not limited to, psychoeducation, family systems, cognitive behavioral, brief and solution-focused, and motivational enhancement treatment and techniques. I am interested in the mutual development of therapy goals with my clients while exploring and educating them on how the mind, body, and spirit interconnect. My focus My ideal client is one who is open, engaged, and ready to work. It is so important to understand that therapy is where we learn the tools, but we have to be willing and ready to put them into action to have peace of mind and improve overall quality of life. My communication style My communication style is candid and genuine. Working with me feels safe. My journey to mental healthcare Majoring in Sociology (the study of people) in undergrad intrigued my interest in humans, how our brains work, and how experiences move and change us-whether good or bad. I knew this was the field for me! After the tragic loss of my daughter Raven, who was scheduled to graduate from my alma mater, Georgia State University, only a few weeks after she was killed in a hit-and-run collision, my drive shifted to a deeper understanding of compounded grief and how getting support to help us navigate through our experiences in life is so needed. Raven's goal was to become a psychologist and join me in the mental health field. She would say, ?Mommy, we are going to heal the world one human at a time.? Well, I am still committed to our goal!
