Psychotherapist
GA
I believe that each person has innate self-worth and potential. It is my desire to support the client to find their best life in their personal life journey. My approach My main method of therapy is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to assist the client in discovering maladaptive thoughts and behaviors, and reframe those to more life-enhancing and adaptive thoughts and behaviors. My approach is very collaborative so that the client can take an active "teamwork" stance during their healing process. My focus My ideal clients are those within the 10-85 year age span. I work with families, couples, Law enforcement, First responders, EMC personnel, Domestic Abuse Surviviors, Human Trafficking Surviviors, bipolar (I + II), MDD (Major Depression), Generalized Anxiety (GAD), life transitions, Senior Issues, OCD, Autism Spectrum, and Substance Abuse-alcohol My communication style When clients come to see me, they need to be heard, but supported with encouraging-but direct communication. Clients usually have the most helpful answers within themselves! They just need support and guidance to rediscover their best answers for themselves. My journey to mental healthcare I am a United States Marine Corps veteran and a Domestic Abuse Survivor. I am also a recovering alcoholic- Sober date: December 7, 1984. I was also a single mother who raised 3 daughters in poverty. I have seen human misery in every capacity, but always believed in the strength of the human being to recover and overcome any adverse circumstances. My goals for you During the first session, a thorough interview is conducted between the client and the therapist, with direct questions asked by the therapist. If there are any assessments indicated, those are conducted and discussed during the first interview, so that the client and the clinician can work collaboratively toward agreed-upon goals for the client. My first session with you I am interested in what brings the client in for their healing, first and foremost.
