Getting to know Patricia L McGee

Hello, my name is Patricia, and I have been a mental health counselor since 2013. I have had the privilege of working in several different agencies, including traditional outpatient and telehealth settings, serving a diverse range of individuals and families. My journey began at Baldwin Wallace University, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, followed by a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Kent State University. I have provided therapy to college students at a university counseling center, adults and seniors at The Free Clinic in Cleveland (now Circle Health), primarily children at Beechbrook, and most recently, I worked at The Centers for Families and Children, supporting clients ranging from age 5 to adults and seniors. I have experience working with clients facing situational life stress and changes, as well as mental health disorders including depression, anxiety, PTSD, personality disorders, and relationship issues.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Sessions are typically weekly or twice per month. In the beginning my main goal is to get to know you, your reasons for coming to therapy and problems, of course, but also your strengths, interests and everyday life and relationships that you have. It is from these things that coping skills and growth happens so that you can be the strongest, most successful you that you can be. Sessions are tailored to you and your needs so that we can work together toward your goals and what you want out of therapy.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
