Psychotherapist

Hi there, I'm Patricia! Hi, my name is Patricia Roberts. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker #19811. I earned my Master?s in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach, and my Bachelor?s degree from California State University, Fullerton. My passion is to help people with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life changes, and a lack of purpose or meaning. With over 25 years of experience, I combine my knowledge with empathy and compassion to support your therapeutic journey. I want to help you better understand yourself, develop coping skills for improved daily living, and promote healthier relationships. My goal for you is to achieve a greater sense of inner peace. I use holistic techniques and client-centered therapy to support you in finding self-awareness, self-compassion, and balance?all keys to growth and healing. It would be an honor to work with you in this healing process and to achieve your goals as a team. The goal is progress, not perfection. My approach includes client-centered therapy, DBT (helping people accept the reality of their lives and behaviors while working toward change), mindfulness, and psychoanalysis (understanding how past experiences impact present behaviors). I feel most comfortable working with clients aged 14-30, though I also work with other ages, especially around anxiety and life choices. The one area I do not consider my expertise is grief therapy. In our sessions, I strive to create a sense of trust and honesty. I believe therapy is far more impactful when built on mutual respect and understanding. My journey to mental healthcare began with a deep interest in why people create narratives in their minds and how these shape their thoughts and life choices. I believe everyone has the ability to change their perspective, regardless of their environment, and choose a path that brings fulfillment and joy.
