Getting to know Patricia Souza

Hello there, thanks for taking the time to get to know me as a therapist. I would first like to welcome you to this interesting journey of deeply understanding yourself and possibly the world around you. My approach begins with exploring you, the problem you are facing, your environment, and your past to gain a better understanding of what is going on. So, be aware—I will take some time on that. I especially want you to feel heard and understood first, so we are on the same page before moving on to the next step. I have been told I am very approachable and easy to talk to, even when I point out inconsistencies to help us gain broader insight into your situation. Over the years of experience, I have learned that each client brings a unique story that needs to be treated case by case. I use several different approaches and orientations, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Bowen Therapy, and Structural Therapy, among many others. I have treated adolescents, women, men, couples, and families at various severity levels. I have been successful in bringing out the best in you once you find your personal goals and place in life. I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Loma Linda University, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to support you effectively. Overall, I am open to your needs and preferences in treatment plans and interventions, as long as they help bring you back to your functioning and high performance.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
