What should a new client know about working with you?

Patients working with Dr. Patrick should expect an easy and conversational approach to treatment. It begins with getting to know the patient, while also starting the process of change without excessive delay. Change is an evolutionary process that is different for each person. I think is important is to know that change is possible, and people can feel and do better. You can too.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Initial sessions start with conversations getting to know you, the concerns that brought you to therapy, and what you would like to be different. That includes some discussion about your background, what you might have tried in the past, and what may have made things better or worse. The majority of the work in therapy happens between sessions. This means there is regular discussion about homework, collaboration on goals, and regular review of progress and future expectations. To me, therapy is a collaborative process that blends coaching, information, and support, and that is what I strive to provide for my patients.
